The Wall From H-E-Double Hockey Sticks

Well, it is finished!!!!! [ *light beams down from the sky onto me* ]

Too bad I didn’t have my camera [durh] but what was once deemed the ’wall from H - E - Double Hockey sticks’ has now been scraped, perforated [lol] patched, filled, sanded, primed and given a touch of luuuuuvvv. I don’t know exactly what happened to the wall when whomever else rented this space before, but someone tried to cover their tracks by wallpapering over it, and left us with quite the "um-what the crike am I supposed to do with this crumbling mud and paper glued overtop of it" mess. Literally - there was dirt and mud behind where the drywall had somehow been ripped completely off. I spackled the craziness and sanded it till my arm was literally sore from it [and still is actually].

I will take pics next time I go up, but here is the before shot so you can see what I’m talking about: [along with the lovely gorgeous Mrs. Price, aka, my wife].

Kyler and I drove to the studio yesterday in hopes of getting a few things done when the weather took a turn for the not-so-great and we ended up camping out there since the roads were so terrible [its about 25 min from where I live]. Let me just say, my seven year old is AWESOME. I thought he would be bored out of his mind but he was an incredible help, and enthusiastic at that. We got snacks and drinks, played good music, and got TONS done. He was truly my little helper. Needless to say, I ended up staying awake working until after 4am, and had my alarm set for 7:45 so I could get home in time for church but when I got on the roads they were still pretty bad so Ky and I turned around and headed back to the studio. I ended up working until 2pm today [bathroom, dressing rooms, and prop closet - check!] , and all that’s left now is painting, general cleaning, and decorating, wooohoo! We get our floors installed this week [all but the upstairs].

If you want to help us paint this week, we’ll buy you dinner. Just msg me!

I’ve learned something from all of this too. Sometimes, you have to take matters into your own hands and go with it. We’ll look back on the original state of the place when we deciced to tackle the project and think - wow, we’re idiots; We’ll be sure to never take on a project that big ever again! lol, j/k. I’ve actually enjoyed it even though it has been a lot of work. Organization is my middle name in a sickeningly-obsessive-but-only-so-I-don’t-lose-my-sanity-from-disorder sort of way.

Coming up: Another shoot for Lisa Kanouse, designer for Saurette NYC [children’s line], photos of Jared Boll [NHL] to be published in Set Magazine, upcoming shoot with Mother Father in January [yeay!]

Special Studio Rates: Keep your eyes peeled for special Studio Packages (coming mid-January) upon the Grand Opening of the New Studio Location. My Special Studio Rates will begin at $99 and include prints! [child and infant]. Limited availability!

Have a great week everyone!
